Exploring sexuality in your teens isn’t always easy or straightforward. But if we continue to perpetuate the idea that sex is something women give and men take, then teens are indeed at risk.
It’s bad enough that we fat shame adults for our entertainment, whilst pretending to be ‘concerned’, but setting our fat-phobic sights on children is indefensible.
If the aim of campaigns like #RedrawTheBalance is really about dismantling gender stereotypes, then where are the inspirational videos encouraging boys to be nurses, child care workers, aged carers, librarians, social workers and other female-dominated professions?
